    Ok here is the scenario.
I have 10-15 separate layers different durrations, spread out all along the timeline. I set the in and out workspace ( B and N ), I make movie, now I got to the next area and repeat. now without going into the render settings window in the render window and setting the custom time manually, I get 10-15 sets of the same in and outs.

Is it possible to write a script that automatically sets the custom in and out points as make movie is triggered?
It would be even cooler if it put each movie/still seq into separate folders and named the movie/seq and folder the title of the top layer that is active and contained within the custom workspace.
oh yeah if it could start the Cappuccino maker as I hit render so much the better 😉
    Any help would be great
    thanks

Yeah, for this project but not the next , or the next, or the next, etc

No script needed, actually. After you set your work area, send it to the render queue, click on render settings and then click on the “custom” button in the time sampling area. Your ins and outs are picked up by the custom setting. Now you are free to change those ins and outs for other render set-ups. Just repeat as you send each to the render queue.

    Dave ,
Perfect world and all that, some projects don’t go as planned.
I normally just output the graphics plate with alpha, Keeps everything tidy.

    Doug,
Yeah I did that I am just looking for a more streamlined approach should this happen again.
I wish that Adobe had added the ability to set up start and end pref in the Render settings templates. It’s the only one they left out! Would you like to have to change the other prefs or go through 2 windows each time you want to change proxy use or any of the other settings?

    good luck
