    Automatic Transitions

    When I am adding clips to the timeline, I often double click on the link in the file explorer window. When I do so, the clip is added to the right of the previous clip. Is there a way to have the clip added at the end of the file but automatically place the standard transition overlap for each added clip? Thanks.

    a scripting assistance tool like Ultimate S can do this for you in a click.
    Additionally, you can go to Preferences | Editing and set Automatically Overlap multiple clips with a user-defined length
