Automatic Fade for Audio (Vegas6)
When I put audio into the timeline, or paste audio into the timeline, there is always an automatic fade at the beginning and end of each audio event. I thought that this might be an automatic thing that can be turned off. Sure enough, under the Preferences menu (Under Edititing) I found an option that says: “Quick Fade length for audio events (ms)”; it was set at 10ms. I tried to change it to 0, but it wouldn’t let me. The lowest number I could put was 1. This seems odd to me, because in the Vegas Help it says:
“A rapid fade is applied to the edges of audio events to soften potentially harsh transitions that can result from cutting data or splitting events. When you use a 0 ms fade, edges of new events are not faded (existing fades are not removed).
Enter a value in the box to change the length of the fade.
From the Options menu, choose Quickfade Audio Edits to turn quick fades on or off.”
I even turned off the “Quickfade Audio Edits” but they still will not go away at the edges of the audio events, and I still cannot set the number to 0ms.
Any help would be greatley appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael M.
