    Hey all,

I need to send a project file to a European production company from FCP 7 to Avid.

I’m trying to use Automatic Duck to send to them the project file and media, but it won’t create any video files. I keep getting an error: “One (or more) video clips encountered a fatal error. Video output discarded.”

The log only says “Codec missing/failure”

    Thanks for any help!
    Tim

What is the codec of the source? What are you trying to convert to?

Everything in the timeline is pro res 422.

And we’re not trying to convert the media, just create external re-linkable files.

Do the convert media option. The external linkable option was always buggy.

Is the convert media option via automatic duck? I’m not seeing it in the options. Also, thanks for the help!

So, I got it to work. Turns out I, even though I was only exporting from FCP, I had to have Avid on the system for FCP to create the MXF files. Really weird.

You can download only the AVID codecs and it works too.
