    Hi,
I am having problems importing my AAF from Avid Media Composer 6 into After effects 5.5. I have the latest version of Automatic Duck but it keeps crashing After Effects whenever I import my AAF.

I play with all the settings in MC6 and AE, but as far as I can go automatic duck loads at best empty files. Does it work with the new DNxHD 444 350 X MXF from AVID?

    Any other idea?

Cheers Im in win 7 64 bit

Several seconds passed before you reply Dave. Hahaha.. I have found that automatic Duck does not work with the “DNxHD 444 350 X MXF” nor the “1:1 10b RGB MXF” formats that you can mixdown in AVID.

But you can buy this compatibility I think
    https://www.calibratedsoftware.com/store/WindowsIndividualStore.asp

I don’t understand why I can’t mixdown in DNXHD 175x in MC6 as I did in MC5.5, not sur if I am missing some codecs or if they removed this option from MC6. It would allow me to send my files in AE5.5

Thanks a lot Dave for the quick awnser, I always appreciate your infos on this forum.

Ahh.. I was working in the “wrong” Colorspace.

RGB 709 space allows you to render/transcode/mixdown in RGB formats:
    – DNxHD 444 350 x
    – 1:1 10b RGB MXF

YCbCr 709 allows you to render/transcode/mixdown in video formats (rec 709):
    – AVC Intra
    – DNxHD
    – XDCAM, VC1, 1:1 10b MXF

I usually work in RGB space in MC6.

Working in YCbCr 709 is needed to import your AAF in After Effects with Automatic Duck!

That being said, it might be a different story on a mac.

    Cheers
