Automatic Duck – Copying & Sharing A Project?
Hi,
I bought Automatic Duck to transfer a big Final Cut project (music video) into After Effects. It’s a great tool – worked perfectly the first time!
Now, I’d like to copy the After Effects file that has been created and give it to my friend, who has all the same source footage mirrored on his computer. The idea is that we work on different parts of the music video simultaneously and eventually transfer his finished bits into my master project.
The problem is that when he opens up his version of the After Effects file, it doesn’t give him the option to link the files to their source location.
So, how can he link up the files? And will he have to do it one by one or is there a (logically) quick and easy way ie. like when Final Cut links to lost files?
Would really love some help on this one. So far, my grand plan of sharing the workload isn’t happening.

Check the manual but without ae open in front of me, you right click the clip you want to relink choose the option to replace footage > file … and select the footage you want. I think it will also relink any other files it finds in that path.
