    Everyone,

I’m hoping someone here can tell me if they’ve used Automatic Duck’s Pro Export FCP 3.0 with Final Cut Pro 6. I need to convert a project from FCP 6.0.3 to Avid Media Composer 2.7. According to the Duck website Pro Export FCP 3.0 is designed to work with version 6. Can anyone Confirm this.

    Thank you,
    Gabe

    Richard,

Thank you. Do you know if it matters if the original files I captured were from a P2 card? I no longer have the cards and would not be able to recapture them.

    Thank You,

Do you still have the footage from the card? Not the converted QTs, but the original MXF files? Because Automatic Duck converts SEQUENCES from FCP to Avid and back…it does not convert the media.

This is why I always say, keep the original P2 media in its original format.

I was given an external hard drive by the client with a FCP project, its render files, and capture files on it. I have to check and see if the the MXF files are on it. If they are, how do I reconnect them in Avid? If they’re not, it looks like I’m stuck exporting QT files with an Avid codec.

    Thank You for your help

[Gabe Cotto] “If they are, how do I reconnect them in Avid?”

Got me…never had the need to do this. I do know that the Avid reads the MXF files natively, and all it needs are the VIDEO and AUDIO…but as to how to reconnect to those? Never done it. I guess I should play around and figure that out.

    Shane,

Please let me know if you figure it out. I’ll do the same.

    Thank you for your time.
