Automated Multi-camera Editing in FCP
Hi,
Is there a way to minimize the time it takes to edit between multi-camera footage on an FCP timeline, specifically footage of sporting events? For example, if I am given footage from 6 cameras all covering the same 5-a-side football game, is it possible to lay each clip on a separate layer, all starting at the same point, and instead of manually going through the footage cutting between each layer, somehow automatically applying those cuts? Any advice on how to save time doing this and essentially automate or industrialize the process would be much appreciated.

That feature in FCP is called “Multicam Editing.”

I know Apple ProRes LT is a solution for sporting events if you want working with more cameras with a correct quality. You can see more informations on :

I’m editing now a multicam with 3 cameras but there are 2 changing tapes so I’ve got 3 files for one camera. Is it possible to make a multicam with only one sequence or I must doing 3 sequences and after assemble blocks sequence ? Thanks !

I’ve got a model master (direct mix), if I create a sequence with the 3 files of one camera and I drop black movie (“amorce” in french, don’t know what is the word in english) in the 2 ruptures, maybe that can work. I will try this evening.

The solution at my question was easy :
brick in the sequence 3 cams synchro with the master and make a plan for multicam.
