For some reason, some of my audio tracks work fine whilst other don’t. What might I be doing wrong?

For instance, before I render the AC3 file, should all my tracks be set to ‘Read’ (I presume so!) and should ‘Show automation controls’ be set or not? Or doesn’t any of this matter?

With ‘show automation controls set to ‘on’, when I right-arrow through the movie, I see the panners working exactly as they should do. e.g. moving from centre of the sound field/panner to the front centre speaker. Yet the when I render and then play it on the blue ray player, there’s nothing at all coming from the rear speakers at the start of this particular sequence.

Any ideas what I might be doing wrong please?

    Thanks.

    So – I’ve found one thing…

On that background music track I was talking about, if I switch automation off, the little diamond thing in the panner is 100% at the centre front speaker. So I moved it back a bit and switched the automation back on again. Now there is some from the rear channels too. But this merely seems to indicate to me that the automation is being ignored during the render process for some reason???

Please – if anyone has an idea for me, let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

Nobody got any thoughts on this then?

Ok, I eventually solved this one.

It’s a really silly thing, as usual. Until you bring up the full-sized surround panner, you can’t see if some speakers are deactivated or not. Something I will not forget again!!
