    Hi all.
I have over 100 clips in a sequence and i want to insert a 1sec dissolve between them.
The only way i know, is to trim them a bit (otherwise i get the “Insufficient content for edit” error) and then add the dissolve transition.
Is there any way to automate the trim and transition insertion steps?

    Thank you.

No – At least not in FCP 6.

100 clips shouldn’t take more than an hour by hand though.

You can do it in FCP7 (by dropping the transition not on the edit point, but on the middle of any of selected clips).

You can alter the dyrTion of the clips all at once in the timeline (although that will just trim the head). Then bring your whole timeline to the viewer and drag over to canvas with assemble with transition. That will apply the default transition. If you need another type/length of transition, make that the default and do it again.
