Automate Clips to Timeline FCP
I am attempting to set up an automation where my clips in my bin can be laid down on my timeline matching the timecode. I was attempting to use Automator to record me opening a file in the viewer, copying the starting timecode, pasting the starting timecode to the timeline and inserting the footage at that timecode point.
I was able to successfully set up an automation except it only applied to the clip I recorded the action with. What I want to do is to be able to select the files in the bin and run the automator.
If it is not possible to do with automator is there a way that I can write a script that will run in FCP to achieve the same effect?

Awesome Thanks. Now that I am working with sequenceLiner I am trying to get a few things to work based off of the manual. Here is what I am trying to achieve:
4 Cameras:
A CAM
B CAM
G CAM
H CAMAudio:
8 channel audio recordingI separate the clips into their respective bins and create a target sequence.
I would like to make it so that I can have A CAM on video track 1, B CAM on video track 2, G CAM on video track 3, H CAM on video track 4 and audio below everything else. The clips overlap/have the same timecode which will be multiclipped once everything is in sync.
Do you know if this is possible with sequenceLiner or do I have to do each track individually? If so, what is the recommend bin set up so that it works properly.
I couldn’t find a forum on their website so I figured this was the best place to seek help.
