    Hey RE:Vision & All,

Having just unsubscribed from Creative Cloud, dropping After Effects after it being in my toolbox for over 20-years.

Question is, what to replace it with?

I’ve got Davinci Studio (with Fusion), and taken a 3-year licence on Avid MC Ultimate (with Symphony).

But the Autograph way of working appears closer to AE, and I like that.

The show-reel shows it as being very responsive, and able to work with data from Excel, which is great. What kind of PC power should I be looking at getting that kind of speed, in 2K, 4K or 6K?

    And Autograph accepts OFX plugins:
I am a fan of BorisFX Continuum, but that appears to have issues when running in Autograph.
How about Mocha Pro and Sapphire?

Then there is the Python API. Will this allow me to run Autograph inside Resolve and Avid, or is that a step to far on the wishlist?
Wouldn’t mind if I could use the Python integration to start adding A.I. integration in too – think instead of Excel, use the A.I. to collect and display relevant data from a number of on-line sources.

I’m sure that there is another 50 questions. But Autograph is not widely talked about, although it has what looks like a very extensive set of tools.

It’s mostly dependent on GPU speed
OpenFX support is great, our plugins work in it of course. I think most BorisFX plugins work – with OpenFX as there are a lot of hosts not all developers pay attention to all hosts – so it’s a case by case basis.

Also everything is accessible in app via Python back-end (Pyside ui) – so yes you can connect background process like you describe – and stay tune for NLE connect. There is also some javascript expression for simple Motion Graphics task, you can also drag and drop vector files if you work with IA or Affinity/Canva now, and as well you can grab any shadertoy (glsl shaders) and paste them in Autograph for generating backgrounds… It also allows you now to import not just USD, but also FBX, obj, gltf, ply….
