Would like to buy an auto tune program
and import the audio results into Final Cut.

I assume it is as easy as edit the
audio in Auto Tune, export as AIFF
and import into Final Cut, but I’ve
    never used it.

    Any advice?

Poor man’s auto-tune effect is in Garage Band, which you already have on most macs. So that’s free… I used it to get this effect:

    I am so very sorry….. 🙂

And when I thought I had seen it all, I was shown something new which proved that we are devolving at an alarming rate. I mean, WHO DOES That?

Importing it into FCP is the easy bit, just save it as an aiff that’s at 48kHz and either 16 or 24 bit and you can drop it into your project or bin.

I’ve heard that there’s a couple of others about, e.g., melodyne (spelling??), but it’s not really my area. Maybe try a more music orientated thread…
