I’m trying to take a word that is is one font and have it morph into another font. I can’t for the life of me remember how to make the “auto-trace” masks morph from one shape to another.

For the best result, use AE’s Reshape effect. You will also want to morph one character to another character instead of an entire word into another word.

One way would be to use the Convert Text To Masks command for each set of characters and then use Smart Mask Interpolation to animate from one set to the other.
