    Hello,

I’m just working on a video for a client that was entirely shot on greenscreen, comped in AE and assembled in FCP. I’d really like to send them a version of the cut with a shot names/numbers as text over each shot, so that we can easily communicate about what shot is what and where I need to make changes.

Does anyone know of a plugin or method that will automatically allow me to do such a thing? I.e. add a text layer in FCP over each clip that will automatically display the clip name beneath it (or if it’s an effect applied to a clip, the name of the clip that it’s applied to?).

It would just make my life easier than having to label up hundreds of clips! It’s a longshot, but there must be something/someone out there who’s had a similar problem.

    Cheers 🙂

    Hi Geraint,

I just had to do this last week. I wrote a little program to automate it. It’s the Clip Labeler on that page. Hopefully it works for you. I haven’t had a chance to test it in too many situations.

Amazing! That’s spot on, does exactly what I needed it to.

I’m certainly going to be using this tool again – many thanks, David 🙂

    Cheers,
    Geraint.
