  • Auto squash & stretch in C4d?

    Hello,

I’m new to C4D and I’m trying to add some squash & stretch to a simple object. From what I can see, everything needs to be manually keyframed – the squash & stretch deformer does not respond to motion, unlike in most 3D software. I’m hoping I’m wrong, and there must be a simple way to add auto-squash & stretch to an animated object, without the need to use soft body dynamics.

Any suggestions would be most welcome!

The deformer would have to be animated, or I guess you could set up some Xpresso to automate it.

Huh. That’s really crappy. I remember being impressed by the wobbly stretch and squash that could easily be automatically applied to any object in Softimage about 20 years ago! I’d have thought C4D would have something similar. I know Maya has.

Maybe what you’re looking for is the jiggle deformer — not the squash & stretch deformer?

I second that. I think you want the Jiggle deformer.
