Activity Forums VEGAS Pro Auto Ripple Question

  • Auto Ripple Question

Auto ripple is working if I insert an event from the trimmer. But when I try to move an event within the
same track between two other events, the event that I move stays on top of the event that should
move to the right. Does auto ripple only work if you’re inserting from the trimmer?

Are you letting go of the mouse to complete the edit? Everything will move then.

In general, I recommend using post-ripple instead. It’s easier to control what’s going on.

How do you switch from auto ripple to post ripple?

I think solved the problem…If you are in auto-ripple you must move the event with the right click in the mouse, then it gives you the option to shuffle, move or copy the event.

[tjglfr1] “move the event with the right click in the mouse, then it gives you the option to shuffle, move or copy the event.”

This is actually a different option.

To turn Ripple off, simple click the ripple button on the toolbar. Then you have to use the keys (F, Shift-F, CTRL-Shift-F) to control rippling AFTER the event is moved. Do a search for “post ripple edit” in the help file.
