So I just bought the Auto Duck software so that I can online my Media Composer projects in FCP. My first attempt at didn’t work great. The OMF converted fine, but it wants to dig the the entire master clip, then just set in to outs. I want my omf to to tell FCP to only capture the the used chunk – not the entire clip (as originaly digitized in the avid). Do I just need to decompose first? Well, that’s what I’m about to try. Any on ehave any hints?

Decompose in AVID or put the imported sequence through media manager in FCP (trim unused media). Both ways work, but I prefer to decompose in AVID.
Good idea to remove all audio levels/pans if you take audio with you from AVID to FCP.

    Greetings

Great – decompose worked well. I figured out I could also decompose and link to media – then copy my new OMFI folder and omf to my FCP station and open it. Then I get the offline (kinda) and the conform all at once.
