  authentication driving me insane

  New 12core Tower-
  This is basic stuff but man I cannot defeat the “Authentication” window popping up virtually every time I delete, copy or move a file! I am opening the Get Info on various folders and changing permissions/unlocking stuff; tried going into the System Prefs to do the same – and this all got rid of SOME authentication issues – but it still maddeningly persists. Is there a GLOBAL “OFF” switch I can go to to stop the madness??
