AUPitch pop – any suggestions?

I think I was able to have some success by keeping the pitch adjustment low. After verifying it was clean and free of pops I copied and pasted the AUPitch effect. In essence applying the effect twice. The copied effect could be adjusted to taste. This way I got up into the higher range I was initially aiming for but without the pop. Might be a fluke, but it just worked for me a few minutes ago.
