  • Audition multitrack – pasting always pastes to new track.

One thing I have to do on a regular basis is to take six recorded mic feeds, edit them down, pan them L/R and finally mixdown to stereo for a podcast. My workflow is this:
I import the six feeds and group them to ensure they’re always in sync. On occasion I have to cut a section of this group and paste it somewhere else on the timeline. However every single time I attempt this, Audition pastes one clip in the existing timeline BUT creates new audio tracks for the other five, instead of pasting them on the existing tracks. Does anyone know how to stop this behaviour? I’ve tried selecting (highlighting) all the existing tracks, i’ve tried de-selecting all the existing tracks, and i’ve tried selecting just one existing track but it makes no difference.
