Has anyone any ideas about this?

I’m running Audition 3.0 on a Windows 7 64bit pc, using a Focusrite Saffire Pro Firewire soundcard.

    All works beautifully, except……

When I click Play, not every time but maybe two in every five times, the play icon greens up but the playback does not start until about 4-5 seconds has elapsed.

It’s driving me nuts! Any clues welcome!

    Have you tried looking here?

Did you set up your latency settings for Firewire? Sounds like that might be the culprit.

Thanks Joseph. I’ve tried playing with the Firewire latency settings and with the ASIO buffer size in Saffire and the Wave Cache size in Audition, but nothing has made any difference. I’m puzzled!

Resolved! Although I thought I was on an up-to-date Driver, it turns out I wasn’t. I am now, and all is smooth again. Phew!

Charles – I had the same problem, and it was driving me crazy as well. I found a video on YouTube posted by “MediaFi”, explaining how to give a specific program “High” priority in your pc resources. It cleared up the problem for me, and here is the link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6Lzq3fvpdA
