When I create an audio speed change using the AudioSuite Time Compression Expansion on my Mac, it does not conform correctly on another Avid or Pro Tools system. I am exporting my sequence as an AAF with embedded audio. When the AAF is imported into a PC based system and the audio rendered, the sped up audio plays as gibberish. This works both ways. When audio is time-compessed on a PC it does not play correctly on my Mac. I set the time compression ratio to 0.900:1 on my Mac and it appears as 0.250:1 on the PC and vice versa. When the sequence is opened on a Mac based Avid or Pro Tools, the clips that have the time compression effect are missing entirely. The media is there but the clip in the sequence is not. I am currently using Media Composer vers. 3.1.3. on a Macbook Pro 2.93 GHz. The PC system is an Avid Symphony DX with vers. 3.5 Media Composer software. I don’t know the software versions of Mac Avid and Pro Tools systems.
