Audio won’t play
I have been trying to figure this one out for a while now. I am working on a PC with CS4.
Audio no longer plays in any of my adobe software. I have not changed, added, updated, ect. anything on my computer. One day my adobe just went def.
Audio plays in every other device that can play audio, all file types.
I have tried playing every kind of file type in all of my adobe programs. Ae, Pr, Sb, En, Fl. Every file has wave forms and the audio meters bounce around but no sound. Even in old projects. Audio even exports out and plays in all non adobe devices. I just can’t hear it in anything adobe. I’ve tried asking my computer nicely to tell me whats wrong with it but alas, he could not make a sound.
If anyone has any ideas I’m all ears. Thanks.

I have discovered what might be the problem. I have 5.1 speakers and I seem to no longer be getting sound out of my front speakers, from any program. I checked the speakers other places and they still work.
So I tested to see if I could still get sound out of just head phones, no sound. Audio plays out of the center and rear speakers only.
I think if I can get sound to come out of my front speakers or head phones my audio problem might be fixed.
So far I’ve tried reinstalling the drivers with no luck. And I ran a diagnostics check with no luck. The computer thinks it’s playing sound out of the front speakers.
Any suggestions. Thanks.

Have you installed the Premiere Pro CS4 4 update (Windows: https://bit.ly/acvy3V Mac: https://bit.ly/bE4l3f)? That update fixes a lot of problems. You can also try trashing Premiere Pro preferences.

I reinstalled the drivers in safe mode and all is fixed.
Thanks for the advice Kevin that would of been my next move.
