Is it possible to get video and audio without RAM previewing? It seems to me that having to RAM preview just to hear the audio is a major hindrance and slows the work process down considerably, especially when you have a lot of effects going. When those effects are in-sync with the music, and you have to watch/listen and then make changes, the slowdown becomes even worse.

Is there anyway to get the audio without RAM previewing?

    Thanks,
    Naveen

Put your cursor where you want to begin hearing audio and press the . (period, decimal, etc.) on the keypad.

It also helps to select your audio layer and where you want a specific event to happen, and hit the * as you preview the audio and it will place a marker on the layer for you at the same spot in time.

You can also hold down the Option (Alt) key when you hit the period key on the keypad and you’ll get an audio preview of your work area.

    Thanks guys.

I really wish Adobe and whomever would work on After Effects in conjunction with a video card like the Storm 2 so that we could have real-time effects and audio. (We have Storm 2 and Premiere Pro, and it is great). That would speed up work-flow immeasurably.
