Why don’t the audio waveforms show (even though the option is checked under my prefs)? Any suggestions? Seems like it only works when it wants to.

    Thanks in advance, Jess

the audio track display has to be a certain height. I forget what it is but drag one of them (or use the size thingy) till it’s a bit larger and the waveform will pop into view.

If you created the sequence before you set up your prefs to display waveforms, they won’t display without changing the timeline settings. (Click the small triangle near the bottom left of your timeline to change settings for that timeline.)

Any new sequence you start after changing your prefs should dislpay the waveforms though… If they don’t look at re-sizing your tracks as boogiesan described.

Since FCPv1 I’ve wanted a control-click inside any single audio clip: Show Waveform.
It’s silly to change modes to a prefs or a settings panel just to get a few audio hits pinpointed.

You can also hit ‘command-option W’ to toggle the displaying of all waveforms without having to go to the preferences window.
