I wondering how you change the volume over time.

I have a voice-over track and a music track. I wan’t to lower the music track when i fade up the voice-over. I can’t find any easy way to do this? Can anyone help?

In my old app (Avid Liquid) i could just click and drag the volume-line ind the wave-form, is there a similar way?

    Best regards!

Insert a volume envelope (shortcut key is V) on the music track.
Whwn you want to lower the music, double-click the envelope line four times to add 2 points at the beginning and 2 points at the end of the voice-over segment.
Place your cursor anywhere between points 2 & 3 and drag downward as desired.
Adjust the time difference between points 1 & 2 or 3 & 4 if you want the fade in/out to be fast, slow or somewhere in between.

You *could* use a tool like Ultimate S, which ducks music whenever voice is present. 🙂
Double click the event, this can define in/out points. Using either a script to insert envelope points, or simply setting those envelope points by hand, you can quickly create four-point envelope adjustments that will allow you to duck music at each voice point.
Hit the “V” key to insert a Volume envelope, and adjust the rubber band points just like you did in Liquid.

    I love the Production Assistant.

Since I record audio books, I’m looking for a duck plug-in that will lower the relatively quiet passages (between narrated words) to a user specified db level…like the PA’s ‘simple duck’ but that is able to convert passages below a certain db level to a duck level.

The object here, is to simply find a script that will lower the volume between narrator’s words to minimize breath noise and mouth clicks.

Still a big fan of the song “arrival”.
