Audio Troubleshooting from FCP to DVD
Hello. A friend suggested that I might be able to find an answer to a final cut/audio issue here.
My friend, a well versed editor, and I just finished up a short. Whenever he emailed me the updated cuts, I would always listen with headphones because I was usually at work and didn’t want to disturb others.
Well, the film was finally completed and he created a DVD for me. The weirdest thing has happened. There are several scenes in the film where the audio has disappeared completely for the entire scene. The score is there, but no audio. Please note I am watching on a standard tv set with no extra speakers. Is there any particular reason why the audio would be playing through headphones and not through the speakers? All the audio from the respective scenes is linked to one particular track (different of course from the ones that have audio through the speakers).
HOWEVER, if I put the DVD in my computer and watch it on Apple’s DVD Player (AND put it in my headphones), the audio is all there! So the audio plays through headphones, but disappears without.
Can anyone help us resolve this issue? Is it a Final Cut setting that is causing this? Exporting process from FC? Is it the original audio that is the problem?
Any suggestions would be VERY MUCH appreciated.
