  • Audio Tracks solo switch always on no audio plays, track greyed out Vegas 13 on Win 10 new install on new computer

Suddenly my audio tracks are greyed out and the vol control shows Off(solo) in yellow. I only have one track and it is not soloed. I tried unstalling and re-installing, trying several projects, locking, and unlocking various switches, but nothing works. I’m using 13.0 on Win 10, and it’s had a few other buggy things. I’ve used Vegas for 10 years, but never seen a problem like this, but just started on Win 10. It seemed to run well, then fell apart, with this problem the worst. I’ve seen other similar posts, but none of the suggestions have worked for me. Anyone else?

UPDATE: I downloaded Vegas 14, and it works fine on Win 10. I have Vegas 13 build 545, maybe it’s not fully compatible with Win 10?

    Thanks for any help.

When you solo a track, it greys out all the other tracks, not the soloed track and those other tracks will show OFF (solo) in yellow as you describe. Yet you say you only have one track.

Look for the soloed track. It may not have any audio on it’s timeline, but it still can be soloed and give you the behavior you are seeing.

A screen shot of all tracks would be helpful.

A friend reminded me that under Options, there is a MUTE ALL AUDIO selection. This was selected. Same thing with video. It’s a fairly common problem. It’s fixed. Tell your friends!
