Audio Tracks in Premiere
Hi all,
We’ve just done a shoot with two mics (a lavlier tie clip and a boom mic) each individually feeding into the Sony DSR450 camera.
I captured the video from the DV tape as DV AVI using a basic video capture software (not Premier).
I was told by the soundman that when importing the AVI in Adobe Premiere, the audio would appear on two seperate audio tracks for each mic (so we could switch between them, or choose the best recording).
Having put the audio into Premiere, I see one audio track with a Left and Right channel. Is it possible to listen to each mic track or:
i) have the two mic tracks been mixed into one audio track when fed into the camera or;
ii) When capturing the video, should it have been done a different way to seperate the audio onto two tracks? or
iii) When choosing to import in Premiere, is there a speical setting which tells the audio to seperate two different tracks?
The problem we have is there is a lot of background noise from outside the room we filmed in – mainly passing car traffic. If this audio is all we have to work with, any ideas how to lose this background noise within Premiere, or do we have to use some audio software to cut out low frequencies?
Any ideas appreciated!
Thanks,
Ralph
