  • Audio track was accidentally overwritten – Can I get it back?

Posted by Stephanie Soden on February 10, 2013 at 11:48 pm

    Gosh I am kicking myself!

I had one audio clip on a track, completely edited and ready, and accidentally laid another track on top of it. I kept working for a while and saved, and auto-saved, several times before realizing this. Now my audio is gone! Is there any way to get it back?

    Thank you so much!

Its gone, overwritten is overwritten. Premiere is unlike Audition in that Audition does, confusingly, allow overlapping blocks of audio in the same track.

If the work session has not ended, you might be able to Undo to the point before the clip was deleted (check the History panel). In the future, save the file with a new revision number every time you open the project.
