I am mixing down a vocal singing session in Vegas 6.0 and I am wondering if anyone has extensive knowledge of the audio capabilities within Vegas. Basically I am looking for a good compressor and reverb plugin to add. I am not exactly happy with what Vegas offers as a standard but I may be doing something wrong. Does anyone use a combination of audio effects that works well?? Are there any good .vst files that I can download for free that will serve my purpose… The singer has a good voice but I need it to sound more industry like… More like a professional production… Any input would be appreciated..

For compressing vocal tracks I use RVox Comp by Waves, but that is a very expensive effects bundle. If you can afford it I highly recommend it. For free VST effects, try Kjaerhaus’ Compressor. https://www.kjaerhusaudio.com/classic-compressor.php Also there are some nice free effects at Voxengo’s site, a very respected effects vendor. https://www.voxengo.com/downloads/ Try the Marquis Compressor I believe it’s still free.
