Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Audio too slow

  • Posted by Adrian Sauer on January 25, 2009 at 11:27 am

    Hey

From one day to another: i started up FCP an the audio down at the timeline was slowed down. Also Speed-changes of the audioclips did not change anything. I tried several fps changes or format changes, nothing helped…

if i play it in the preview everything’s fine…

    any ideas?

it sounds like a sample rate issue. The audio has to be at the same sample rate as the timeline. This is typically 48Khz, whereas most audio is sampled at 44.1Khz. So just stick the audio into ProTools or something and bounce it out to 40Khz or whatever the timeline is set to.

    Hope that helps………

    Hey,

thanks for the idea, but that did not help…

    I tried several samplerates now – but…

The big mysterious fact is, that it worked once…

    Thanks for more ideas,

    adrian

If it worked once then it might be a crazy nonsense bug from the firey pits of bloody hell. I’ve just had to work around something similar. Unfortunately, all programmes have them……….

    good luck

Adrian, did you ever find a solution to your problem? I am having the exact same problem and have tried everything I know to do. It was working one minute and the next it was playing back everything slow. Please let me know if you figured out out to fix it. Thank you.
