Audio sync problems when importing
When importing video lately I am getting audio-sync problems. The import starts out ok, but after about 20 minutes or so the video will freeze for about 3 seconds with the audio still running and the final import will then have the video out of sync from the audio.
My system specs are as follows:
MacPro 2.8 GHZ 2x Quad
OSX 10.5.7
6 GB Ram
FinalCut Pro 6.0.5
500 GB Hard Drive
Canon XL-1 -

Be sure you do not accidentally have an extra copy of quicktime on your computer. This can happen sometimes when iTunes or quicktime is updated. Also might check for time code inconsistencies between Video and audio. THat would be rare however.

How would I check for an extra copy of Quicktime? You mean an extra copy of the Quicktime APP or system files?
I should mention that I tried importing the same video with iMovie and it worked fine there. Figures that the consumer level program would work while the $2000+ one doesn’t.
