audio sync problems when capturing to FCP at 23.98 from 1200a
Posted by Gewan Brown on July 21, 2006 at 2:45 pmWhen trying to capture at 24p from a Panasonic 1200a deck my audio is out of sync. The footage was shot on a Varicam at 24 frames with the system frequency at 59.94. If I capture at 59.94 all is well and audio syncs.
But shouldn’t I be able to capture at 23.98?BTW, where does the FRC app install to… FCP package contents show no sign as far as I can tell. How can I uninstall it?
Thanks in advanced!

July 21, 2006 at 9:36 pmYou capture at 29.97 (59.94) and tell FCP to remove the pulldown.
If you had shot 24p Advanced you could remove the pull dowm after capture. -

actually you cannot remove pulldown in FCP by itself and no camera that records tape that plays the in 1200 has the currently has the capability to record 1080 24pA nor does the frame rate converter work on 1080 content.IOn FCP5.1 the FRC is on the install disk while earlier versions are on the web on the 1200a support page,
The software frame rate converter will be under the TOOLS Menu after installed.
If you captured the clips into folders or binscreate a new project with the correct settings and drag the clips into the new project
and then try the FRC software. Make sure to check all 3 boxes available in the FRC.gary adcock

July 24, 2006 at 7:12 pmThat’s another thing I was wondering. I can’t get it to work, it says it can’t conform media. I’ve looked to find where the tool is located to manually uninstall but no luck.

since you are not telling us anything about your problem-
Video Clip needs to be SELECTED and be at the root level of the browser window?
it can only be 720p material
and
did you confirm the steps in the previous post?https://forums.creativecow.net/cgi-bin/new_read_post.cgi?forumid=8&postid=899595
