    Hi

I am having audio sync issues exporting a project as a movie from Final Cut Pro 7.0 using the apple ProRes 422 HQ codec . The project contains both apple ProRes 422 HQ 24p files and HDV 50i files and plays fine without sync problems in both ProRes 422 HQ 24p and HDV 50i timelines. It also exports OK as an HDV file.

I have tried exporting the movie as both ProRes 422 HQ 24p and ProRes 422 HQ 50i but both still have sync issues.

    Any suggestions?

What are the properties of the delivery file you’re after? Just a high quality self contained movie or? What are the exact sequence settings you’re using?

    Hi Jerry

I have feature film clips that I was given as Apple ProRes 422 HQ 24p files and wanted to keep them as high quality as possible. The sequence was started as an HDV sequence because that is what everything else was shot on.
I have tried copying my HDV sequence onto sequences set to the Apple ProRes 422 HQ 24p and Apple ProRes 422 HQ 1080i presets and I have also tried exporting directly from the HDV timeline. It plays ok in both the HDV and the ProRes timelines. It exports fine from the HDV timeline. The Audio sync problems only occurs on export with the Apple ProRes codecs.

Audio settings are 48khz, 16-bit, channel grouped, stereo.

Editing timebase is 25 – I can’t seem to change this and wondered if this was an issue when editing with both 24p and 50i source material.

    Thanks
    Jim
