  • Audio Sync Problem When Rendering

    Hey everyone,

I got no response to my question in the Premiere Pro forum, nor was I able to find anything similar in my forum searches.

When I render an AVI file out of AE, I get the same problem as I do with Premiere Pro: the audio going out of sync by 4 frames consistently. This happens when rendering out to several different formats, so I ruled out “settings” in the render que. I also ruled out Cineform Settings, because I have been working with their tech support for 12 days now.

Since this problem happens for me in AE as well as Premiere, I thought I would ask here in the AE forum.

Here is the question similar to how I have posted elsewhere:

I am converting my AVCHD files to AVI (Cineform Aspect) and then importing into Premiere Pro CS3. The files play in real time just fine in the timeline.

My audio is going out of sync when I render out to anything. I tried the following:

    File>Export>Movie>Quicktime Animation.

    File>Adobe Media Encoder> Quicktime h.264.

    File>Adobe Media Encoder> Flash On2.

All renders have the video about 4-6 frames behind the audio. It does NOT seem to be an audio drift problem.

By the way, I am shooting 24P (60i) in the camera and doing a 3:2 pulldown using Cineform Aspect’s HDLink utility. Again the AVI files play fine in the timeline.

P.S. I spent considerable time with Cineform’s tech support on this and they tell me that it is probably a problem with Adobe Premiere CS3 and not the Cineform CODEC.

    Any ideas?

I am converting the AVCHD or HDV files into Cineform AVI using the Cineform HDLink utility. “Capturing” is not really in my process at all.

I will play around with Premiere’s settings some. Thnaks again for your help Dave.
