Audio sync problem bringing in video from VHS tape.
I’m using a JVC SR DVM 700 to capture audio and video from VHS tapes into FCP

The JVC unit has a firewire connection to the Mac. The sync looks good on the video monitor on the way in, but I do see sync problems in the viewer or canvass windows on my monitor.
After import, I am seeing a notice that a sample rate conversion problem has happened which could result in sync problems. I’m also seeing some sync problems.
Is this A/D latency differences in audio and video?
Is there anyway to keep this from happening?

Make your life easier, just replay the tape and capture the audio using the Headset out from the camera to the Mic port on your computer and recording in Quicktime. Then resync the audio and the video. Hopefully you have a slate or clapping or something to help you do that.
And yes, it’s probably a latency issue, although what and where is hard to tell. Is the JVC recording as it’s passing through?

This is (typically) a VHS tape brought to me that I need to get into the system.
Not something shot on a VHS camera (if they really exist anymore.)
