Audio Sync Issues Capturing from Sony DSR-PD150
Hello all,
I shot an interview this weekend with a DSR-PD150. The interview took up the better part of a 60 minute Mini-DV tape (~55 mins). Last night, I went to capture the tape to FCP… I watched from start to finish as the interview played back and captured, seemingly without any hiccups. I then opened the clip in my viewer to begin editing, and I noticed that about 6 or 7 minutes in, the audio skipped and went out of sync. Thinking that this might be an isolated hiccup in the audio track, I cut and manually pulled the audio track up about 10 frames until it was again sync with the video. As I continued reviewing the clip, the same thing happened again. I jumped farther into the clip and noticed that the video and audio tracks were slowly getting further out of sync.
Any thoughts?
I am certain that I shot and captured 16-bit, so I don’t think there is a compatibility issue there. I read something about possible issues with large file sizes, but I’m not sure how that would affect audio sync.
I’d really appreciate any help, as fixing this issue manually will be a huge drain on my time and energy. Not to mention if it happens again with future interviews.
Thanks
