  • Audio Sync Issue- Any advice?

Posted by Ben Lithman on March 22, 2011 at 4:05 pm

I have an FCP project where the audio appears to be out of sync by a few seconds. I’ve tried deleting the footage from FCP and bringing it back in from the capture scratch, but always get the same result.

What is really odd, is that when I play the video in Quicktime X or Quicktime 7, the audio is in perfect sync. The issue only seams present when in FCP…

    Can anyone help??

    BTW It’s DV PAL footage…

Check the kHz of the recording itself. The camera or deck will report the bit depth. If it’s reported as 12 bit (usually in the viewfinder or on screen display), capture at 32kHz, 16 bit, not 48… if it’s 16 bit then it’s 48kHz…
