I wasn’t sure where to post this, so I thought this would be a good place.

We’re having a serious syncing issue on review DVD’s that we create in real-time, using FCP, our AJA I/O, and a DVD recorder. We’re on a MacPro, decked-out with extra memory, an esata card (to access the raid where the media is located), and also, we’re cutting in Apple Pro Rez HQ. This problem just started happening (we believe)…

We’re recording the DVD’s from the output of the AJA Kona box in real-time to a DVD Recorder.

The audio on the resulting DVD appears at times to be out of sync- trailing the video, sometimes slightly, sometimes a lot.

When monitored during the record, both the direct input and downstream (from the DVD player) output seems in sync.

We have just started experimenting with what might be the cause of this. I’m wondering if it might have something to do with the DVD recorder (a basic model).

    Has anyone heard of this???

Well if the downstream output is in sync, it seems the DVD player would be the only cause.
