I’m having some trouble with Premiere unsyncing my clips. When I import them, the video lags around 1/6th of a second behind the audio. I’ve been solving the problem by advancing the audio a few frames in the timeline before exporting them, but that’s a pretty crappy solution and a pain, as the clips are not all unsynced equally.

I’m pretty sure it has something to do with my source footage, as it doesn’t happen with all videos, only ones that I get from my employer’s webcast. Video that I record myself doesn’t have this issue, but 95% of what I work with are these webcasts.

Obviously, the source files play fine when you just open them up to play them. The problem doesn’t occur until they are imported into Premiere. They are WMVs with 288kbps 16 bit 32kHz stereo audio and 320×240 241kbps 24 bit video.

Has anyone else run into this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Thanks,
    Will

What’s the source format? and since you are employed by them why can’t you get the source footage in another format.

Bad choice! Premiere Pro doesn’t like highly compressed video format, such as the WMV file format.
