Audio stuttering in VP16 with Waves v10 when plug-in pane is open
Hi folks,
I’m having audio stutter problems with Waves plugins and Vegas.
In an audio-only, single track project, playback stutters when all these 3 conditions are met;1) A Waves plugin is loaded in audio track chain
2) Audio Track FX pane is open
3) Waves plugin is selected (focused) on the chain and plugins GUI is visible.I have this issue with both VP13 and 16, with Waves v9.9 and v10
Waves v9.92.0.45 (64bit) running on Vegas Pro 13 installed on a Win 7 Sp1 system
Waves v10.0.0.16 (64bit) running on Vegas Pro 16 installed on a Win 7 Sp1 systemRenders and output files are all fine but this problem makes it impossible to make proper adjustments & realtime previewing during playback.
There are no problem with other plugins on the system from other vendors like Antares, Sony, Native Ins. etc… they all run smooth.
Btw, it’s not just audio that stutters. The GUI update of Vegas stutters too when Waves plugin is selected. The cursor moving on timeline, VUmeters, and all animated visuals stutter too. It looks like watching a 5 fps video…
Is there any solution for this problem?

UPDATE:
I have contacted Waves and they told me Vegas Pro 13 is not officially supported with Waves V9They advised installing V9.6 with Vegas Pro 13, but they don’t promise it will work.
Before doing this `experiment` , I just wanted to ask if anyone has already done this and able to run them without problem.
(as I mentioned in the OP, the stutter issue hapens only when Audio FX pane is open and ready for adjustments during previewing)I think I’ll be falling back to Vegas 9 + Waves 9.2 incase I don’t get any confirmation in a few days

After a long time I find a solution for Waves Plugins preview stuttering on Vegas Pro.
The 32 bit version of the plugins works ok on old 32 bit versions of Vegas.No time now for a complete tutorial. Search on the web for this tools and how to use it.
The short solution is:
1. Create the individual VST dll’s of the 32 bit Waveshell…dll with shell2vst.exe.2. Create 64 bit versions of that VST’s with JBridge. Make them accessible to Vegas Pro.
Works on: Vegas Pro 13 / WaveShell1-VST 9.92.dll / Win 10 21H2
