Audio sounds squelchy / distorted after YouTube has processed video
Hi,
I’m rendering MP4 videos (via Sony Vegas Pro 8.0b), then uploading to YouTube. The video output looks fine, but the audio becomes squelchy / distorted after YouTube has processed it. Can anyone recommend a way around this please (been tearing my hair out for days)?
My videos are about 2 mins in length and end up around 200 – 250MB in size.
Here are my render settings:

Have you tried rendering the audio with just a “blank” video (eg, something like just a black screen) to help rule things out?
Also, have you tried rendering the video in a smaller resolution (like 180×120) and uploaded it to see if the problem still occurs?
You also have to wait until YouTube displays the “Download MP4” button on their page to know that everything’s completed successfully (some people try viewing their videos before this appears, which means YouTube is still rendering and things could be muddled).
I typically render YouTube videos first in a small size to make sure it uploads ok, processes ok, and YouTube doesn’t claim “copyright infringements” against my audio. 🙂
