  • Audio slightly out of sync with video question

I posted a problem before that I had where part way through my 3 minute music video on FCP the audio starts to go slightly out of sync with the video. But I knew I couldn’t have unwittingly made a change by accident to have caused this to happen because the project was last saved in mid June and only a few days later I exported it as an FCP movie and the audio was in perfect sync with the video. So then how could it have gone out of sync in the project when I made no changes to it?
I tried fixing it by redragging the audio clips but that didn’t work becasue the the audio was in sync in the begining of the clip and then goes off sync later on.
So I dragged the audio from the export and replaced the old audio with it and voila! Now it’s in sync. WHen I checked the properties of the audio clips I found that the exported audio was 48 khz whereas the original audio in the project was 44.1 khz!!!! But I don’t understand how that could have happened since the Sequence settings in the project show that the audio is in 48 khz! So how could the sampling rate have changed to 44.1????
Anyboody have any ideas how or why this could have happened?

Also, if I use the audio on the export is that as good as using the original audio even though it’s one generation later? Or because it’s digital, it should be the exact same quality? This export was performed with the Blackmagic card. now when I export I do it as an FCP movie.
