I am having a problem with rendering. I’m also new to this.

I’ve narrowed down my issue to this very simple test. I have an mpg with video and audio. I import it into after effects and tell it to render an mpeg, avi or quicktime file.

When I render it the audio is about 1 second behind the video. I’ve tried this with numerous encoders. They all give the same result. What could be causing this?

I know its not the source video. It plays perfect in a variety of players.

    Any thoughts?

If you have Premiere Pro, you can try importing the mpeg file, then exporting to a movie (.avi) and test with windows media player, or other players. Then bring this .avi into After effects, if you want to go further. I seem to recall that earlier versions of After Effects did not like mpeg, but not sure.

Or, you could use a number of other converters. I always use Premiere Pro or Ulead Video Studio (an older version…I think 7.x) to do my conversion of mpeg to avi. NOt sure about quicktime .mov.
