audio proxy error
Alright, I recently downloaded the update to Sony Vegas Pro 9.0d. When I tried to import a clip, a message popped up saying
An error occurred while creating a proxy file for a stream.
Error 0xc00d002f (message missing)I have never had this issue come up before and I used the same filetype I always use: .wmv
Just to be sure, I imported another clip (same filetype) that I had used before 9.0d and it had the same problem. Also, I imported an audio file but that had no problem whatsoever. I don’t know if this proxy stuff is a good thing, but I want it to be as simple and quick like it was before I downloaded 9.0d. I have searched but cannot find any information regarding this issue. Is there any way to make it stop creating audio proxies, whatever they are? I do not need them.Thanks in advance, this has really thrown me through a few loops.

I don’t have a fix other than to say, I would never edit WMV files. They are a highly compressed delivery format and really substandard for editing. I would convert them into something easier to edit like Cineform, MJPEG, Lagarith, or any other intraframe codec that Vegas supports. I would also use PCM audio in the conversion.

Try deleting the audio file in Sony Movie Studio and then import media again and drag-and-drop it to the audio track. The peaks should build. If that doesn’t work, try going to the preferences and experiment with the audio tab.
