So I’ve exported this video to be played through a computer, with media presentation software, and thus through a soundboard but it is playing through the board like garbage. The audio only sounds bad with the interview clips I recorded, not the bg music.

If I listen to the file directly from that same computer (plug headphones into the mini jack) it sounds clean, but when it feeds, via two RCA cables, into the board the signal to noise ratio is gross.

If I unplug one of the RCA cables into the board, then the audio sounds clean! I dont get it!

My interview clips have been captured in stereo, and have a few filters (3-band equalizer and expander/noise gate) to eliminate some of the noise.

Thing is, I’ve done this process a million times before, just capture the clips in mono sound – why is it making a difference going through the sound board???

You need to describe what output the sound is taking from the computer, and what input to the mixer.

You are most likely overdriving the mixer’s input with your signal.

Dialogue audio may be out of phase.

The channels are canceling each other out.
