Audio problems in sony vegas 9
When I import any audio file it will play for 1-2 seconds and start to get all distorted and stop. If I render it, it plays and works. I just have problems playing it in vegas.

What is the audio format of the file? What brand of audio interface do you have on your computer? Have you tweaked the buffer settings in the Vegas Audio properties tab? If you did, perhaps you made them too small. Distortion after a short playback can be caused by audio buffer overflows. Making the audio buffer larger usually fixes the problem as the expense of increased audio latency.

They are mp3 files. it wont work with any audio type, so if i import video with audio it will not work either. I haven’t changed anything in vegas, I just got the program. What can I do to fix audio buffer overflows?

Help! How do I mute my video audio and have a song play over it? I have tried everything! It was simple with the older version, but I am now struggling!

Just put the sound, audio for the clip down, visually, to the bottom of the cell. Or on left hand audio slide, move completely to the left to elimante. The music bed can be the only sound and played with for right levels. Good luck.
