Audio Problem solved
Hi all, thought I’d share a problem I had and the solution I found.
The problem… I film from the pre-installed application that Windows 10 features called ‘camera’. When I play back films in the photos app audio is fine.
When these same files are transferred to a Davinci project however, the audio deteriorates. Phasing and panning begin happening and I have no control over sound quality.I checked playback and time line frame rates matched, I made a correct timecode for clip, but none of this effected the audio quality. I can only assume the audio quality was effected during upload. I went down a massive rabbit hole of trying to conform clips, but in the end the simplest solution was to find an alternative video camera source. I went to windows store and found this free app. Would thoroughly recommend it…
https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9N6XPP7JMB97It’s called LW camera and so far it’s working and audio is not compromised. I think that during upload the audio retains quality and Davinci doesn’t have the same problems reading it as it did with files from camera app.
I hope this helps someone..
Happy film making!
